Program Description

To graduate with a specialization in Astronomy, students must complete the following required courses plus the general breadth requirements for the Associate Degree (minimum 60 semester units).

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe how models of the Universe evolve based on observations.

  2. Demonstrate general knowledge of physical and astronomical concepts and principles that govern the behavior, properties and evolution of planets, stars, galaxies, and the universe.

  3. Demonstrate skills in analyzing and interpreting observation data in astronomy.
