CIT – Office Technology A.A. Degree

Program Description

To graduate with a degree in Office Technology, students must complete the following required courses plus the general breadth requirements for the Associate Degree (total = 60 units).

This degree is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions such as general clerk, information clerk, receptionist, and administrative secretary.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Operate the PC operating system and common office applications such as a spreadsheet and database management system.

  2. Understand the hardware and software architecture of a contemporary Personal Computer system.

  3. Type at 60 words per minutes.

  4. Recognize computer and network security threats and common approaches to preventing security compromises.

  5. Follow procedures and guidelines for efficient and effective business office operations.

  6. Create a resume and employment application letter.

  7. Prepare written reports and memos.
