Airframe Maintenance Technician Certificate of Achievement

Program Description

This certificate is designed to prepare students to qualify for the Airframe Certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which enables the holder to perform 100 hours and annual inspections on aircraft ranging from small aircraft used in general aviation to jets utilized by commercial airlines. The written examinations are administered by the FAA at computer testing centers.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply general calculations and basic electricity of aviation as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

  2. Apply general materials and servicing of aviation as required by the FAA.

  3. Read and Interpret airframe manuals.

  4. Perform required inspections, maintenance, and repairs on aircraft Airframes.

  5. Evaluate and troubleshoot aircraft airframe systems and components.

  6. Evaluate and service aircraft airframe systems.

  7. Assess the serviceability of aircraft airframe parts and components.

  8. Write descriptive and concise discrepancy reports.
